Robberies and pickpockets in Buenos Aires

As in any other city, you should look out for pickpockets. Always have your belongings under control. You should take special care with your luggage, suitcase, camera, purse and wallet, which are the main targets of thieves and pickpockets. Pay even more attention while sitting at Restaurants, bars, coffee shops and terraces.

Never carry with you more than you actually need when out and about in the city. If you have valuables and your room isn’t ready upon your arrival, always leave them in the safe (the hotel will have them if you require them). You should also be aware that some robberies have been reported in waiting areas and hotel lounges.
